[Talk] Comcast issues?

Anyone having Comcast broadband issues recently?  I've been down for a week. They
first told me it was "trouble with the lines", then some issues with my PC, now
they're claiming it's those darn lines again.

The weird thing is that I can ping their nameservers and traceroute across about 20
hops to get to the NSs. But I can get *outside* Comcast:

E.g., if I traceroute to 68.87.66.135, it finally arrives at
spdns.cmc.co.denver.comcast.net.  I can nslookup and dig their nameserver and get
immediate response. But try to go anywhere else (ftp, http) and it never gets there.

They're technician out on Saturday to poke at my modem. I don't what that will
accomplish but apparently it's the last option.

Has anyone used DirecTV broadband?  Any other options besides this super-crappy
Comcast?
