As part of the AT&T/Bellsouth merger, some concessions had to be made to
please the powers that be at the FCC. One of those concessions is $10
DSL service. Unfortunately, it's offered only to those never having had
Bellsouth/AT&T DSL service in the past.
Another concession is that telephone service would not be required in
order to get DSL service. For those using Skype or Vonage over DSL,
that's great news. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait about 6 months for
this one.
