I have a box full of cheap power supplies pulled from cheap cases. At first I used
to think, "Hey, cheap power supply. If it fails I'll just replace it."  But then I
realized that it was taking out the drives too. I used to get a drive failure almost
monthly from about 30 drives across about 8 machines. Since replacing all the power
supplies, the drive failure rate has gone down to less than one every three months.
