SQL Ledger was just the subject of a [negative] Slashdot article:
http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/04/15/1759254
It has been forked, apparently.
I highly recommend GnuCash Accounting (kind of like Quicken), having just finished doing my taxes using it. I understand the architectural desire to have the SQL backend (multiuser, etc.), but GnuCash is a joy to use and gets more polished all the time, and the last I used SQL Ledger it was very primitive.
