They changed the look of Google Mail and I have not been able to get used to it. While searching for a solution, I ran across a plug-in for Firefox and Chrome. It's called Stylish and it lets you customize the look of any particular web site. Most browsers that support CSS let you customize CSS locally. It was originally designed to be useful for handicapped users. You can do this directly through the browser, but you can also do this with the Stylish add-on and it will make sure the customizations only apply to a particular web site. If you're not into writing your own CSS, there's a whole site full of samples styles from users at: http://userstyles.org/ I've been working on creating my own custom Google Mail look in CSS. If you use Google Mail and want to check out my custom style, it's at: http://www.userstyles.org/styles/60535/google-mail-old-look-for-lm If anyone tries customizing their CSS through Stylish or on your own, I'd love to know what styles you find most useful. Was told they were making the switch to the new look mandatory some time in February. (Don't know if that's just the installation where I work or any version of Google Mail.) That's why I went looking for an alternative that would work with it. thirdshiftguy wrote: > > One solution: mail client. Provided they do not change their interfaces > too much. I'd use a client if I could, but I'm stuck with certain restrictions at work and they want us using the web interface only.
