Is it possible to open a file from linux to win 2000, on the 2000 server? (using Samba) The only way I have found is to move the file to the linux machine, edit, return it to the win 2000 server. The files are used by four to six users and contains data that is being changed, constantly. Opening on the server prevents other users access while the file is open, thus the desired outcome.
