the library of congress online catalog has an option to save/download the r=
esults of a search in marc or marc21 format, marc stands for machine readab=
le catalog. is there no linux or java or online tool that can convert these=
to a format like csv that can be imported? i know there is a perl module f=
or marc, where perl can then be used to massage the data as required, but i=
don't have time to learn perl just to use it.=20
on the other hand, the catalog offers output in a text file with a some clu=
msy formatting that impedes import to a spreadsheet table, and i could fool=
around with bash and a text editor. however, after messing with this for a=
while i just wanted to know if there isn't already a suitable tool to help=
. thanks
