[Linux] Raw Devices - Contos 5

Hello All,

I am trying to make a raw device persistent across
reboot  and most of the documentation i've come across
has the following:

1. Create raw device using 'raw' command 
2. Add line "/dev/raw/raw1 /dev/VolGroup00/u06" to
/etc/sysconfig/rawdevices
3. run '/sbin/service rawdevices restart'

Issue: There is no file named "rawdevices" in
/etc/sysconfig

Bootleg attempt: create a file named "rawdevices" and
add line to the file then run the service command

Issue: When I run the /sbin/service command it does
not recognize rawdevices as a service.

Am I missing a package? Not sure where to go from
here. As always, any help is most appreciated!
