Hi all,
I need help with postfix. For some reason my outgoing SMTP has stopped
working. My account was recently transferred from Adelphia to Comcast,
along with that came a new SMTP server for Comcast.
I've updated my main.cf file to the following:
relayhost = smtp.comcast.net
But, when ever I try and send an email I get the following in the log file:
May 15 11:58:24 dtwconsulting postfix/qmgr[5606]: 07F8845880:
to=<dwilliams@XXXXXXXXXXX.com>, relay=none, delay=61238,
delays=61218/20/0/0, dsn=4.4.3, status=deferred (delivery temporarily
suspended: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for
name=smtp.comcast.net type=MX: Host not found, try again)
Can anyone provide any help on this ?
As some additional info, I setup Outlook to directly use the Comcast SMTP
server and it went through just fine. So, why is my smtp server, which
points to the Comcast SMTP server not working ? Does Comcast have some
additional security in place ? Seems weird to me. By the way, my postfix
server is on my local (Comcast) network.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
