Just as an aside, if your board only had two ports, and it seems fairly old,
it might be doing some funky translation/mapping of the SATA to IDE or RAID
or something. Older boards tended to do weird things to deal with both SATA
and IDE on the board at the same time.  Just make sure you get the settings
right in the BIOS for the ports to work.

Also, make sure the chipset is supported by linux. I'd be surprised if it
wasn't, but better safe than sorry.
