[Linux] Mandrake Install (Newbie)

A newbie, and probably very basic, question- but here goes.

I recently installed Mandrake 7.0 on my 586-133, doing a clean install
onto two 4.1Gig HD's. The system has a Zip drive, Network Card, Sound
Card, PCI Video Card and 56.6K Modem.

In X-Windows  (KDE) the network card is ID's, and I believe the Zip
drive is picked up (haven't figured out how to access it yet..) on boot,
but I don't see the Sound Card or Modem. My question is this- If Lothar
doesn't pick them up, is there a way top get the system to find them? If
not, does anyone have a good source of 'Nix friendly Sound Cards and
Modems? Both the Sound and Modem cards worked fine under Winblows (I
wiped it out with the install).
