Hey everybody,

Does it make a difference if the network card is a 10 or 10/100 Mbps? Im
hooked up with an old 486 with no coprocesor, from the bogomips of 16 I
think it is a 33 Mhz ISA using two $10 dollar SMC ne2000 clones. Im
getting download speeds of 33K/sec compared to my PCI pentium w/3Com
10/100 hitting 151K/sec. I do not know much about ethernet but am
wondering if its my bus or if it is the nics which govern the d/lspeeds???
I do not have a ISA 10/100 card or I would try it out myself. On a side
note...Is hooking up two `puters to a hub connected to network cards in
each machine to one pppoe connection thru an Alcatel modem totally uncool
or will everything fly? tyvm
