model of the hard drive and can handle the capacity. SuSE's partitioning
utility reports that there are 8 primary partitions and if I try to
remove them, it segfaults. Tried the 6.3 version too.

I found a good freeware dos partitioning program that allowed me to fix
my partition type in Windows 98 after a fdisk /MBR wiped it out.
Easiest way to find it is to do a "yahoo" search for "ranish".
See what it reports. I hope this helps.

Carlos,
can the BIOS handle the size of the partitions? Also, have you tried
using SuSE's partition utility?

I'm trying to install SuSE 7 Pro on a K6-2 300 w 64MB RAM & 20GB IBM HD.
When I go to partition the drive manually (I want to set up my own
partitions and use the Reiser Journalling FS) the machine reports that
there is an invalid partition table on the drive. It then proceeds to
install everything in the /boot partition. What do I do? I've booted from
a Win98 floppy and tried fdisk and fdisk /mbr. Still no soap.
Frustrated,
Carlos
