Hi everybody,

I'm trying to get my old adsl connection to work at a new location. I
added a telephone wire to my inside box so that wires 2 and 3 were being
sent to 1 and 4 on the new plug and plugged it into my alcatel 1000. It
lites up green so it should be in sync. My 3Com nic from bellsouth is
lighting up and the messages at boot are:
eth0 Link encap: Ethernet HWaddrxxxxx
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST >>>>> NOTICE- no 0.0.0.0 then my
assigned IP
blah blah
interupt 9 Base address: 0xec00
seems to know my card is there, right??
route add -host 255.255.255.255 dev eth0
gives me SIOCADDRT: No such device
there is a SIODELDRT: No such device error during bootup....So what is
SIOCADDRT and how do I plug in the device?
tyvm
