Wow... I didn't even know that emacs has it's own variant of REs.
I learned something new already today, and I've only been up five minutes!

Of course, I've never used emacs, because I was very comfortable
with 'vi' by the time I even heard of emacs.  And so as to not to start 
an editor war, it is possible (some would even say likely) I was living 
under a rock at the time.  :-D
