If you are using a tight ipchains ruleset, make sure that the rules aren't too
strong to disallow the forwarding. Try opening everything up (ipchains -F)
and set the rinetd config to forward port 80 from box x.x.x.x to the webserver
box y.y.y.y. Enable the rinetd and attempt connections locally maybe with
lynx to the internet IP address of the x.x.x.x box, then also from the
localhost or IP 127.0.0.1 If those work ok try from an internal LAN to the
internal IP address of the rinetd box, then again via the internet. Gradually
add the ipchains rulesets and see which one is killing it.

Dean

64.xx.xx.xx port 80 (address changed) I ma not sure what that means...unless it
has something to do with telocity connection. Any suggestions for a list that
might be specific to firewall-port forwarding? > > stuck, > > Kerry > >
