LAMP Linux Systems Administrator

About the position:

WireSpring has an immediate opening for a Linux systems administrator at 
our Fort Lauderdale, FL headquarters. The selected candidate will be 
responsible for managing Debian and RedHat-based servers both on-site 
and in remote data centers. In addition, the selected candidate will 
help our internal tech support team to manage several thousand 
Linux-based kiosks and digital signage media players around the world. 
Candidates should be well-versed in configuring, managing and 
troubleshooting Linux-based file/print servers (samba and NFS), 
application and database servers running Linux, Apache, MySQL and Perl, 
and Linux- and Windows-based desktops (though help desk support is rare, 
since our staff is very tech-savvy). Candidates must be well-organized, 
have strong technical writing skills and be extremely detail oriented.

Required skills:

* Experience configuring and troubleshooting Linux file servers and LAMP 
servers, including management of complex MySQL installations and 
configuration of Apache using mod_perl
* Strong knowledge of networks, including packet- and wire-level 
troubleshooting techniques
* Strong Perl and shell scripting abilities
* Experience configuring and managing DNS, SMTP and POP3 email servers
* Ability to configure and troubleshoot the odd Windows-based PC or laptop.
* Ability to create project plans, manage to-do lists, and follow-up 
with team members
* Sense of humor. (Yes, it's required.)


Other skills we'd really like to see (but aren't required):

* Experience configuring and using LDAP servers
* Experience with MySQL and Apache performance tuning
* Experience with clustering and load balancing configurations
* Experience using case-tracking and bug-tracking software like 
Salesforce.com or Bugzilla
* Knowledge of basic HTML and web design
