USDTV has an open position for a Web Software Developer.
Responsibilities include:

- The development of secure public-facing and internal-facing
   web/database applications for all aspects of the business,
   including online bill payment, call center technical support,
   and generating reports for management

- Taking assigned software modules through the entire development
   process, including: working on architecture and design with the
   architecture team;  implementation (coding and debugging);
   development of unit tests with the test engineering team and
   system tests with the QA team; and maintenance and enhancements
   after deployment

- Analyzing third-party software technologies to assist with
   "make vs. buy" decisions, and work on integrating chosen
   technologies into the other web/database systems already in use


Qualifications:
Working in a small team, the candidate must be a team player and
be flexible.  Strong technical skills are important, as is the
ability to work flexibly and take the initiative.

You are the ideal candidate if:

- you have software development experience in PHP5, MySQL (or
   other RDBMS), Javascript and XML

- you have a firm grasp of Object Oriented Analysis & Design,
   database normalization, triggers, views and stored procedures

- you have software development experience in some of the
   following areas: working with large data sets, MySQL replication
   and/or clustering, Web Services (SOAP, XML/RPC, UDDI, WSDL),
   multi-tier web applications

- you are familiar with security issues related to web/database
   applications


- you have a minimum of 5 years working experience in web/
   database software development

- you are familiar with the Linux operating system

- you are able to communicate fluently in English

- you have integrity and enthusiasm
