Position Overview:

High level Linux systems developer with at least 4/5 years Linux (Red
Hat preferred) experience in a non-commercial IT environment required,
including system installation, configuration and administration,
technology solution design.

Responsibilities:

*         The selected candidate will configure and build new Linux
images for production and development use.=20

*         The selected candidate will develop/maintain procedures to
comply with IT best practices.=20

*         The selected candidate will maintain meticulous documentation
of systems configurations and procedures.=20

*         The selected candidate will work with other systems
administration and network staff regarding configuration,
backup/recovery and security issues.=20

*         The selected candidate will work with developers, QA and other
administrators to develop and implement standard deployment practices.=20

*         The selected candidate will monitor open-source components for
suggested and critical patches and updates.=20

*         The selected candidate will assist users with problem
resolution and answer system usage questions.=20

*         The selected candidate will work with users to schedule
application of patches, software updates and hardware upgrades.=20

*         The selected candidate will work to refine and test disaster
recovery systems and procedures.=20

consumption.

Required Experience / Skills / Special Requirements:

The key criteria is significant continuous experience as a senior Linux
systems developer in a large scale Linux mission-critical environment
where best IT practices are followed.=20

*	Experience administering open-source components including Tomcat
/Apache, MySQL, GCC, gnu, java, SSH, perl modules
*	Red Hat / RPM experience / IPTables
*	NAS/SAN experience a plus.=20
*	Remote (network) installation, system monitoring experience,
VPN, Routing.
*	Scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) experience a plus
*	Solaris and/or Oracle experience a plus.=20
*	Experience with IT best practices.
*	Excellent writing/documentation skills
*	 Experience with Red Hat WS a plus.
*	Experience designing high availability and DR solutions
