Job Description
Network Software Engineer

As a Prolexic Network Software Engineer you will design and develop  
our next generation of network security components and products.  You  
will work with our engineering team to develop solutions to  
complicated network problems, as well as creating stable applications  
that our network technicians use on a day to day basis to deal with  
DDoS attacks.

The ideal candidate possesses fluency in a variety of programming  
languages, excellent communication and team work skills, sound  
knowledge of wide area networks, and places an extreme importance on  
security.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test new software that functions on the system  
and kernel level that will protect on the code and network level
Maintain, debug, and improve existing software
Continually improve code security

Requirements:
Preferred BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering
4+ years experience programming in Assembly, C, C++
Experience in system-level and kernel programming
Experience in securing networks both at the code and network level
Solid knowledge of routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, etc) and IP  
based attack analysis
UNIX experience a huge plus (FreeBSD, Linux)
Socket programming experience a definite plus

Three professional references required, two from former managers and  
one from a peer. Strong self-motivation and persistence required.
