There are 8 or 9 people that have confirmed with me that they want to be
a part of this group. None of those people have posted to this list.
I'm disappointed to say the least. I'm excited about this opportunity
to learn from other members and publications but I feel others may not
share my excitement.

Anyway, we can start talking about plans. I suggest we go with a
distro-independent cert like the Linux+ or the LPI. As far as
preparation, I think once we agree on a cert, then we should agree on a
standard study guide that we can purchase online. Then, we meet and
assign a chapter(s) to each member. That member will then 'teach' the
rest of us from that chapter in the next meeting. Much like a standard
classroom/lab but with an alternating teacher.

When I have a chance, I'll start comparing the objectives (and costs) of
those two certs and put in my official vote.

Thoughts anyone???????

Larry
