The only book I could look at was the Linux+ 2005 In Depth and it looked
decent (Barnes and Noble). The reviews were not so good as the one you
mention.

The Certification Bible that you mentioned has good reviews, but seems a
a little long in tooth (2001), perhaps that doesn't matter as much of
the stuff that has changed has to do with programs that run on Linux,
not the OS itself. I don't know when things such as GRUB came along.
My DSL line is down most of the time, so I can't look at much.
